As a plastic surgeon, I try to provide clients with the body or facial image of their dreams. When patients come in with requests that change their appearance, I like to be sure that both the patient and I have a clear understanding of the final outcome. The Vectra® XT 3D cosmetic simulator can help us achieve that goal.

By using the Vectra® XT 3D cosmetic simulator, I can show my patients exactly what the final shape of the face or body will be. TheVectra® XT 3D cosmetic simulator can help me understand the patient’s desires in a detailed manner before undertaking any surgical procedures. The patient can see the effect of their chosen procedure on their overall appearance with the help of the Vectra® XT 3D cosmetic simulator. I can also help my patient decide if they want any additional procedure(s) along with the procedure they have chosen by using the Vectra® XT 3D cosmetic simulator.

Vectra® XT 3D cosmetic simulator is versatile enough to capture images of the face, breast, abdomen, or any other body part. The Vectra® XT 3D cosmetic simulator comes loaded with software that can help me show my patients detailed changes instantly in order to achieve the desired result. My practice, the Newport Beach Center for Plastic Surgery, located in Newport Beach and Fullerton is one of the few plastic surgery facilities equipped with the Vectra® XT 3D cosmetic simulator.

The Vectra® XT 3D cosmetic simulator captures all the details of my patient’s anatomy in 3D and is ideal to help both the patient and I visualize the end result of the plastic surgery. As a plastic surgeon, I am able to show patients what their final appearance will be and that gives me a greater chance of helping clients determine what the right procedures is for them.

For all of the amazing women who are surviving breast cancer, it is important to not only be healthy and well, but to regain their femininity. Surgeons are developing and refining reconstructive techniques to provide these women with more options than they have ever had access to in the past. When a woman looses her breasts to cancer, she is left feeling incomplete, often expressing a desire to “feel whole again.” She still wants to feel beautiful and sexy, and to look normal in her clothing and swimsuits. Without breasts, she may feel that she has lost her identity as a woman.

One highly effective reconstruction method is through the use of tissue expanders, followed by permanent implants. Reconstructive surgery can either be performed immediately following the patient’s mastectomy, while she is already under general anesthesia, or at a later date. Either way, after the mastectomy is performed, Dr. Savalia will place a tissue expander in the breast, to prepare the skin for the implant. This is the initial stage of the reconstructive surgery. Then, through a series of follow-up appointments in Dr. Savalia’s office, the expander is filled weekly until the desired size is reached. An permanent implant is then used to replace the tissue expander, completing the reconstruction of the breast mound. Eventually, further surgeries may be performed to refine the look of the breast, such as nipple reconstruction. Reconstruction using implants can also be used in combination with muscle or soft tissue flaps. Dr. Savalia utilizes the patient’s own tissues with an implant to create a breast the looks and feels natural.

For all breast cancer survivors, it can be an extremely overwhelming and emotional process to choose a method of reconstruction. Dr. Savalia guides his patients through this difficult time with patience and compassion. He fully educates patients on every option available to them, assisting them in deciding what is ultimately, the best choice for their bodies. He wants them to be able to look and feel like themselves again, and he supports them through every step of their individual reconstructive process.

Yet as time takes it’s toll, lines grow deeper and areas such as the cheeks appear hollow. A woman might find herself wishing for the full, plump lips of her youth, while still fearing synthetic dermal fillers. Dr. Savalia offers a solution in the form of a fat transfer. He can safely take that extra fat from a woman’s hips and give her beautiful naturally full lips again.

With the fat transfer procedure, Dr. Savalia can restore areas that have lost the vitality that they once had. A fat transfer can be used not only to fill thin lips, but also to fill in lines, or fill out other areas that may appear hollow or depreciated. By using one’s own fat cells, there is no risk of an adverse allergic reaction. Dr. Savalia gently removes fat from areas of the body such as the buttocks, stomach, or thighs, and injects it just below the skin in the area targeted for treatment. The procedure can be performed in the office with no sedation necessary. However, many of Dr. Savalia’s patients combine a fat transfer treatment with other procedures, in which case they may already in the operating room, comfortably sedated.

Increasing numbers of patients are choosing fat transfer procedures, not only to avoid allergic reactions, but because the results can be permanent; a benefit that no other dermal filler can boast. For a patient to achieve ideal results, several treatments may be necessary. Generally, approximately 20-30% of the injected fat from the initial treatment becomes permanent. Dr. Savalia uses this as the foundation upon which to build with the following treatments. Fat transfer patients may also benefit greatly from combining the treatment with other procedures. Botox and Juvederm, or a facelift can help achieve phenomenal overall results, lasting for years to come.

As plastic surgery becomes more mainstream in society today, the number of patients is ever increasing. Once you have decided to take that step and make the change that you have been considering for sometime, how do you select a surgeon? With celebrities such as Mickey Rourke and Tara Reid providing plastic surgery cautionary tales, it is apparent that the surgeon selection process needs to be more closely scrutinized. Selecting a surgeon that is the ideal fit for you, is not something to be taken lightly. Rushing a decision regarding surgery is dangerous and extremely ill-advised. So how do you decide upon the right physician? What accolades define a top surgeon? Although each individual patient’s needs may vary, there are some important standards that should be met.

There are several crucial questions one must ask of their prospective surgeon, the first of which being “Are you board certified?” Dr. Savalia is double board certified in general, as well as plastic surgery, placing him among the foremost physicians in the plastic surgery industry. The American Society of Plastic Surgery recommends that you select a physician with at least six years of surgical training and experience, with at least three years in plastic surgery. Your physician should operate only in accredited medical facilities and adhere to a strict code of ethics. It is important to ask your doctor if he or she has hospital privileges, and where.

Regrettably, any licensed physician can represent themselves as a “plastic surgeon” and it is of the utmost importance that you select a properly trained and certified physician. Your surgeon should: answer openly any and all questions regarding your procedure, clearly discuss their professional qualifications, honestly review the risks involved, all the while illustrating realistic expectations of your results. Ultimately, the surgeon must leave the decision up to you, without applying any pressure or undue influence upon that decision.

Plastic surgery is no longer a taboo topic in society today; it is discussed publicly among friends, family, and all forms of media outlets. With such wide publicity, prospective patients are bombarded with tales of success as with celebrities such as Ashlee Simpson and Ashley Tisdale, whose lives were vastly improved by their plastic surgery decisions, as well as tales of regret, i.e. Kathy Griffin and Lisa Rinna. Whether the experience be positive or negative, the underlying moral is that one must be extremely selective in choosing a surgeon; be critical of every aspect of their history, training, and experience. At Finesse Plastic Surgery we pride ourselves on being with the patient every step of the way, from the initial consultation, to your post operative follow up visits, and beyond. Dr. Savalia recognizes that such personal care is imperative to your success in carrying you through this life-altering experience.

Do you spend way too much time worrying about your appearance? Is there a prominent feature you wish you could downplay, or are signs of aging starting to show on your face? Are diet and exercise getting you nowhere?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, you may be a great candidate for cosmetic surgery. Thanks to ongoing improvements in appearance-enhancing techniques and technology, men and women have more options than ever before. Cosmetic procedures are available to help you reshape your body, rejuvenate your face, and boost your self-confidence.

Choose from the following types of cosmetic surgery treatments to reach your appearance goals:

Facial rejuvenation and reshaping
Body rejuvenation and reshaping
Non-surgical facial rejuvenation
Breast surgery

In addition to having a desire to change physical features, cosmetic surgery candidates should also be in good general health, over the age of 18, and well-informed of the risks and benefits.

Want to know if cosmetic surgery is the right decision for you? Do your research on pre- and post-op care, find out the staff and facilities, and learn more about the surgeon. Read patient testimonials and view photo galleries to see how cosmetic surgery can truly change lives.

A newer alternative to breast implants, fat transfer (or fat grafting) lets women enhance the appearance of breasts without the concerns that come with saline or silicone implants (such as rippling or rupture). The procedure is considered investigational, and the potential risks are still being evaluated.

During the breast augmentation with fat grafting procedure, the fat cells will be harvested, or removed, from an area such as the thighs. The fat cells will then be injected into the breast tissue through very fine incisions.

· Breasts can be shaped precisely using fat cells

· Risk of scarring is minimal since fat cells are implanted through tiny incisions
