What can I expect during the liposuction surgical procedure?
The procedure can last between 1 and 3 hours, depending upon how much work is to be done in various areas of your body. Dr. Savalia uses both power-assisted and traditional liposuction methods during which a tiny incision is made in as inconspicuous a place as possible; a cannula (small tube) then breaks up the fat layer and suctions it out.
What is recovery from liposuction like?
The initial week following surgery is the period during which any discomfort, swelling and bruising may appear to be at their maximum. You will generally be able to begin resumption of your normal activities in three to six weeks. Most of Dr. Savalia's patients are back to work in 3 to 6 days.
